Turk Telekom has named Tahsin Yilmaz, previously the chief executive of ISP subsidiary TTnet, as its new chief executive officer.
Yilmaz replaces Kamil Gokhan Bozkurt, who will remain with the Turkish incumbent as a special adviser to board chairman Mohammed Hariri.
The new appointments, effective immediately, are intended to help streamline the business, the company said in a statement.
Yilmaz held various executive positions for GSM operators in Turkey before joining Nokia in 2004, where he focused on mobile and fixed networks in international markets. He started as CEO of TTnet in February 2008.
