Stefano De Angelis has taken over as CEO from Franco Bertone at incumbent operator Telecom Argentina.
Bertone was redeployed by shareholder Telecom Italia to take on an unspecified role in its group. He had headed up the Argentinean telco since March 2009, which operates the Personal wireless brand.
Telecom Italia has an indirect majority stake in controlling shareholder Nortel Inversora, which itself holds 54.74% of the Buenos Aires-based telco. Nortel acquired the stake in 1990 when the government privatised the operator.
Telecom Argentina operates fixed-line and wireless telephony, data transmission and internet services. It also offers mobile services in neighbouring Paraguay.
