Moscow-based broadband operator NetByNet has received approval from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to buy three local operators, Telecompaper reports quoting local media RIA Novosti.
The ISP is reportedly seeking to acquire 100% of Delta Telecom, Digital Technologies Centre and Ivtelecom, which are based in Ivanovo in the Moscow region.
Russia’s second largest mobile operator MegaFon acquired NetByNet last June with a view to entering Moscow’s broadband market.
NetByNet provides fixed broadband internet, digital TV and IP-telephony services in Moscow, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk and Orlov.
MegaFon declined to comment and NetByNet did not respond to request for comments before press time.
