A specially designated taskforce from Nepal’s Ministry of Information and Communications has petitioned the government to find a strategic partner for Nepal Telecom.
The taskforce, led by Narayan Prasad Regmi, said that a partner for the firm – holding 25% to 30% – would make Nepal Telecom more competitive and bring improvements to the service.
It is understood that an international telecoms operator is being sought to take the strategic stake.
