In the wake of the recent resignation of its CFO, South African telecoms group MTN has made several new appointments at its operations in Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.
Michael Ikpoki, the current CEO of MTN Ghana, has become CEO of MTN Nigeria.
He will be replaced in Ghana by Serame Taukobong, who currently serves as chief marketing officer of MTN South Africa.
Meanwhile, Philisiwe Sibiya, executive in group finance, will become the new CFO of MTN SA.
Ikpoki replaces Brett Goschen, who recently stepped into the position of MTN Group CFO following the resignation of Nazir Patel.
Patel resigned with immediate effect on 23 July as the company started investigating allegations made against him.
He decided to leave the role, held since late 2009, so as not to prejudice the investigation into claims against him, MTN said in a statement to shareholders. Details of the allegations made against him are not known.
