Cableco Multimedia Polska has acquired triple-play operator Transmitel Rzeszow as part of its cable-sector consolidation strategy.
The company did not disclose financial details but said they are in line with similar previous transactions.
Transmitel Rzeszow operates in five south-eastern cities with 10,500 households within range, providing 5,500 revenue generating units (RGUS), Multimedia Polska said in a statement.
Due diligence for the acquisition will be completed by the end of the month, after which the final purchase price will be disclosed.
Multimedia Polska CEO Andrzej Rogowski said the deal forms part of the company’s plan to consolidate the highly-fragmented Polish cable sector. It will strengthen its position in the Subcarpathian region and provide new sales opportunities, he added.
Multimedia Polska shareholders recently abandoned plans to sell their combined stake in the company following a strategic review led by JP Morgan.
M2 Investments, a subsidiary of US-based YTD LLC, has a 46.56% stake in Multimedia Polska while Tri Media Holdings and UNP Holdings, both controlled by Cyprus-based EVL, hold stakes of 24.29% and 10.43% respectively.
