Russian mobile operators MTS and VimpelCom have agreed to jointly build networks, according to a Reuters report.
VimpelCom spokeswoman Anna Aibasheva was quoted saying that with an infrastructure partnership, the network would be built faster, while costs could be optimised, leaving more money to invest into the core product.
Reuters also quoted an industry source saying that the project included the rollout of an LTE network that will cost about Rbs2bn (US$63m).
Neither MTS nor VimpelCom responded to request for comments before press time.
