MTN South Africa CEO Ahmad Farrouk is to step down on 31 July, for personal reasons.
MTN Group (JSE:MTN) said it would announce a new CEO “as soon as the new appointment is finalised.”
Farroukh joined MTN in 2006 as part of the acquisition of Investcom. Since then, he has been CEO of MTN Nigeria and MTN Ghana, group COO and vice-president of the company’s West and Central Africa (WECA) region.
“This was a difficult decision to take for Ahmad, but unavoidable due to personal and family reasons,” says MTN Group President and CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa.
“On behalf of the MTN leadership, we thank Ahmad for his contribution and wish him success with his future endeavours,” he added.
