Khumalo, who replaces Phumzile Joshua Phike, joined the MTN Group in 1994 and has reportedly served in a number of senior roles including CEO in Swaziland, Rwanda and Uganda.

South African telecoms giant MTN has confirmed the appointment of Themba Khumalo as CEO of its Guinean unit Areeba.
Khumalo, who replaces Phumzile Joshua Phike, joined the MTN Group in 1994 and has reportedly served in a number of senior roles including CEO in Swaziland, Rwanda and Uganda.
Areeba is the country’s second-largest mobile operator behind the local unit of Orange.
MTN has mobile operations in over 20 countries across Africa and the Middle East.
