MTN Ghana is exploring the possibility of providing broadband network to oil companies operating offshore in Ghana.
CEO Brett Goschen said: “MTN Ghana intends to build and operate an Offshore Broadband Network for the Petroleum Industry in Ghana through its partnership with Pard Energy.”
He added that MTN and Pard Energy would offer data and value added services such as fibre optics networks to the offshore platforms of Oil companies while providing other data centres onshore.
The company organised a workshop which was attended by shareholders in the oil and gas industry, experts from the energy sector as well as regulatory agencies.
Pard Energy is a petroleum project development company which has been operating off the shore of Ghana since 2004.
