Swedish media company Modern Times Group (MTG) has completed the acquisition of a further 35% of Viastrong Holding from Strong Media Group for an undisclosed cash consideration. MTG now owns 85% of Viastrong which, through Vision TV, operates the Viasat Ukraine DTH satellite pay-TV platform.
The acquisition was completed following approval from the regulatory authorities in Ukraine. MTG will now fully consolidate the operating results for Viasat Ukraine in the Py-TV Emerging Markets business segment of its DTH subsidiary Viasat Broadcasting.
