Echostar (NASDAQ: SATS) announced Feb. 22 that Hamid Akhavan will be taking the helm as chief executive, replacing CEO Mike Duggan who is retiring at the end of March after 30 years with Echostar and its predecessors. Akhavan previously served as partner at Twin Point Capital where he led the firm’s investments in communications companies. He was CEO of Unify and CEO of T-Mobile International, where he was also a member of the board at Deutsche Telekom (ETR: DTE).
DigitalBridge Group (NYSE: DBRG) announced March 2 that Jonathan S. Adelstein will join the company as managing director and head of global policy and public investment. For the past 10 years, Adelstein has served as president and CEO at the Wireless Infrastructure Association. His experience also includes seven years as commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
OneWeb Technologies announced March 10 that former astronaut Tim Kopra has been named the firm’s new president. Prior to joining OneWeb, Kopra served as vice president for robotics and space operations at MDA (TO: MDA).
Isotropic Systems has appointed Andrew Faiola as its vice president of EMEA commercial sales. Faiola previously served as head of mobility at ST Engineering iDirect.
Globalstar (NYSE American: GSAT) announced March 8 that Dave Haight will join the company as vice president of IoT. Haight previously served as vice president of business development at AT&T Mobility, where he launched the IoT group, according to his LinkedIn profile.
