The European Commission has stopped the clock of the ongoing antitrust review of the proposed takeover of Motorola Mobility by Google. A commission spokesperson told TelecomFinance that Google needed to provide additional information to the Brussels based regulator.
The clock would start again once all missing documents have been submitted, the spokesperson said.
Further comment was not available.
Original deadline for the preliminary review of the transaction was 10 January 2012, provided the companies do not offer remedies. The preliminary review gets extended by 10 working days if the companies offer undertakings to address antitrust concerns in due course of the review.
