Motorola Solutions, one of the two companies created out of the demerger of US vendor Motorola in January, has appointed its CEO Greg Brown to the additional role of chairman.
Brown will replace Dave Dorman, who will become the lead independent director of the board.
In a statement, Greg Brown thanked Dorman for his service to the company and that he looked forward to working with him as an independent director.
Dorman said: “I am honoured to have been chairman of Motorola, and Greg has my full support in his new role as he guides this company to greater success.”
Motorola Solutions now focuses on providing telecoms services business and government customers. This includes providing infrastructure, application and devices (like radios) for public safety communications, as well as mobile computing devices for business customers.
