Investment bank Moelis & Company has appointed Hervé Malausséna as a managing director leading its newly created telecoms division.
Malausséna, who will take up the post in August, will advise telecoms clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and arrives with the best part of 20 years of investment banking experience.
Most recently he was a managing director and Head of EMEA telecoms at Citigroup and has advised on a host of M&A, equity and debt deals in the sector. Among Malausséna’s more recent transactions are advising Telefonica on the restructuring of Vivo and the US$2.2bn tender for minorities in Telemig Cellular, advising Oger Telecom on the sale of a minority stake of 35% to Saudi Telecom and working with TdF/TPG France on non-recourse debt facilities for the E3.9bn acquisition of TdF by TPG.

The appointment of Malausséna follows the news that Geoff Austin will also join the company in August. The former Deutshce Bank man will bring vast experience and expertise to lead Moelis’ media sector coverage.
Moelis & Company was set up by Ken Moelis in 2007 and has offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Los Angelese and Sydney. It has over 300 employees.
