The Mexican Supreme Court (SCJN) has delayed introducing mobile termination rates decided by the telecoms regulator Cofetel, media reports wrote.
According to a BN Americas report citing a BBVA Research paper, Mexican operators will not be able to apply the 0.42Ps a minute rate, which had been decided by Cofetel.
The court reportedly ruled that operators will have to maintain 2010 cost levels until the court has had the opportunity to review Cofetel’s proposals.
If the proposals are introduced, then they would reflect a reduction in mobile termination rates by more than half.
