The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan’s five mobile operators that will see them share more towers.
The MoU is part of PTA’s plans to ensure 50 out of every 100 towers in the country are shared by the operators by 2013. According to the regulator, the tenancy ratio is currently 1.02, which means out of every 100 towers only two are shared by operators.
An increase to a tenancy level of 1.5 within the next three years, as stated in the agreement, will help Thailand decrease the number of towers it has to install across the country.
