Two mobile operators have submitted their interest in buying Sri Lankan telco Lanka Bell, according to local media.
The Business Times report cited business sources that did not reveal the names of the two operators, but it did say that these two operators did not operate CDMA technology.
The Business Times, which is part of Sri Lanka’s Sunday Times newspaper, also reported that KPMG was Lanka Bell’s financial advisor on the deal.
Lanka Bell was put on sale last week by its owner, the Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka, last week. Lanka Bell uses CDMA 200 technology and WiMAX data services.
