Shravin Mittal, the son of Airtel founder and chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, is joining the Indian mobile operator at management level, according to reports citing a company statement.
Mittal will work at Bharti Airtel International Netherlands, the holding company for Bharti’s international operations.
This appointment is fuelling succession rumours, coming in the wake of recent similar appointments including at Wipro, an Indian technology company, and Tata group.
Mittal holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Bath (UK), and was working for JP Morgan Cazenove as a TMT analyst prior to joining Airtel.
