Luxembourg-based mobile phone network provider Millicom International would rather consolidate than get consolidated, its CEO Mikael Grahne was quoted saying.
Speaking at a conference in Barcelona, he reportedly added that Millicom is going through a “digestive” period in some of its African markets, including Ghana, where many companies are competing and prices are declining.
Grahne mentioned network-sharing with competitors as a potential way of reducing costs.
The company operates under the Tigo brand in African markets, with operations in Chad, DRC, Ghana, Mauritius, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Senegal, and Tanzania.
