US mobile operator Metro PCS has activated the country’s first 4G LTE service in Las Vegas.
Built by Samsung Mobile, the network will cover the majority of the company’s existing CDMA network footprint in Las Vegas.
Metro PCS intends to roll-out 4G in other cities at the end of this year and the first part of next year.
Samsung concurrently launched its ‘Craft’ LTE/CDMA handset in the US at the network’s switching-on ceremony.
