Russian mobile operator MegaFon, which is currently subject to IPO rumours, has named Ivan Tavrin as its new CEO. Tavrin, currently the company’s deputy CEO, takes over from Sergey Soldatenkov, who will be recommended as a candidate for election to the board of directors, as of today (20 April).
The decision was made at an extraordinary shareholders meeting.
According to a company statement Tavring is chairman of the board and a shareholder in UTH, the largest media holding company in Russia. He is also a member of the executive board of the national association of TV and radio broadcasters.
