Maroc Telecom has signed an agreement with the Moroccan regulator ANRT to roll out mobile infrastructure to cover 1,573 remote villages.
The operator said that this agreement was part of a Dh2.8bn (E248m) programme to cover 7,338 rural villages difficult to access.
By the end of December 2011, the whole population of these areas should have access to mobile services.
