The government of Macedonia plans to launch a new tender to sell a fourth mobile licence this year, according to Telegeography.
The authorities also reportedly intend to sell two new 3G licences.
Last year, the Agency for Electronic Communication failed to attract any bids for the two 3G licences it had put up for sale at E5m each.
In 2008, the AEC attempted to sell three UMTS licences, two to the existing GSM operators, T-Mobile and VIP, and a third one to a new entrant. However, only T-Mobile submitted a bid for a licence, leaving two licences unsold.
Cosmofon was awarded a 3G licence in January 2008 for E10m.
