Macedonia’s Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC) is expected to publish its proposed mobile wholesale prices in early June.
AEC spokesperson Vaska Petrovic said that once the prices are published, there will be a 30-day public hearing before the final prices are announced on July 15.
She added that the proposed model for fixed wholesale prices, which will follow the same procedure, is still being prepared and should be published by the end of June.
AEC head Petar Ivanovki was quoted saying in Telegeography that the watchdog’s analysis had found there was room to cut the wholesale rates for the country’s three mobile operators by 10% to 15%.
T-Mobile, Cosmofon and VIP Mobile share the mobile market in Macedonia. The authorities have unsuccessfully tried several times to sell a fourth mobile licence.
