Latvia’s Telekom Baltija has been approached by three strategic investors this year and the operator’s board and management are evaluating the proposals, its chairman Gene Zolotarev told TelecomFinance.
Two of the strategic investors are already active in the Baltic region and one is a large Nordic player, Zolotarev said.
Telekom Baltija operates as Triatel, which provides wireless broadband services through a CDMA network which covers about 98% of Latvia. The company has said it has 25% of the country’s wireless broadband market.
Telekom Baltija is owned by five private investors and based in Riga. The other wireless players in Latvia are LMT, Tele2 and BITE.
