Network provider Hughes Network Systems recently secured an order from low Earth orbit (LEO) network provider OneWeb for 10,000 antennas, with production to begin later this year.

Dan Losada, vice president of international sales for Hughes, joins this episode of Connectivity Business News’ new podcast, “The Dish,” to discuss the company’s electronically-steered flat panel antenna, which enables high-speed, low-latency connectivity and have no moving parts, keeping costs low.
“We think it’s a real differentiator and a disruptor in the market right now for satellite communications,” Losada says.
The OneWeb deal is part of an ongoing $190 million partnership between the two companies that began in 2015 when Hughes was selected to produce a ground network system to support OneWeb’s constellation.
Tune into “The Dish” to learn why Hughes is capitalizing on the growing demand for electronically steered antennas in LEO networks, and also hear about the company’s Jupiter 3 satellite and other connectivity developments on the horizon.
