James Crowe has announced plans to step down as CEO of US IP-based communications solutions provider Level 3 by the end of 2013.
The board of Level 3, which last year launched a US$1.2bn refinancing, announced today that it had started a process to identify a successor.
Crowe, who has been with the company for more than 15 years, said he and the board had been considering a leadership change for some time.
“Given the company’s financial and operational strength, we have concluded that it is an appropriate time to begin the transition to new leadership with new perspectives,” he said.
