Namibian mobile operator Leo, which is up for sale, has appointed Stanley Similo as interim CEO, AllAfrica reports citing a statement from the company’s chairman Michael Messer.
Similo, who was previously head of human resources, regulatory and corporate affairs at Leo, could not be reached for comment before the press deadline.
According to the report, no reason was given for the departure of the previous CEO, Gerhard May, but Messer was quoted saying that May made sure the sale process of Leo is well on track.
In December last year, TelecomFinance had confirmed that incumbent Telecom Namibia was looking to acquire Powercom, which operates under the Leo brand.
