The CFO of US mobile operator Leap Wireless, Walter Berger, will leave shortly after the company posts its annual report, expected by late February.
According to Leap Berger leaves “for another opportunity in the technology sector”.
Leap’s annual report is expected to be filed by 29 February.
Berger did not give any specific details on his new role, only saying that it represented “a unique opportunity for me personally”.
Leap’s president and CEO, Doug Hutcheson, said that Berger had played an important role in “significant improvements” to the company’s financial and operational performance. Hutcheson maintained that the company is “well-positioned for its next phase of growth”.
Leap Wireless provides mobile services through the Cricket brand.
Earlier in January, Leap estimated that it had approximately 413,000 net customer additions during 2011 and ended the year with about 5.9m customers.
