Libyan telecoms holding Lap GreenN wants to explore tower deal opportunities in Africa looking ahead.
CEO Wafik Al Shater told TelecomFinance that tower deals make “complete sense to us” but that “timing was an issue in the past, and was not in our favour due to the [international] sanctions [on Libya]”.
Separately, Al Shater said that the company will focus on expanding its geographic focus “only if the potential opportunity meets our investment criteria”.
Lap GreenN is present in Ivory Coast, South Sudan, Uganda and Sierra Leone but Al Shater declined to comment on reports suggesting that the telco might bid for a stake in Tunisie Telecom.
The full interview will available in the September issue of TelecomFinance, out later this week.
