Libyan telecom company Lap Green expects to make at least three new acquisitions in Africa, COO Hans Paulsen said in a media interview.
Quoted by Uganda’s Daily Monitor, Paulsen said the group plans to become a major African player and has plans to expand in Togo and Sierra Leone.
Having recently signed a US$300m loan with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Lap Green has been actively seeking out opportunities across the continent in past months.
The company is notably among the shortlisted bidders for Benin Telecom, Guinea’s Sotelgui and Zamtel in Zambia.
Lap Green is currently present in Uganda, Niger, Rwanda and the Ivory Coast, claiming a total of 4.5 million users.
Founded three years ago, the group is part of the Libyan African Investment. It is lead by managing director Abdulbaset Elazzabi.
