Dutch Labour Party PvdA is reportedly opposing plans to merge telecoms regulator OPTA with two other supervising bodies.
The party believes the move could result in OPTA having less oversight as it becomes lost within the proposed super regulator, reported Telecompaper citing Labour MP Martijn van Dam.
According to the reported plan, OPTA would be merged with competition authority NMa and the Consumer Authority.
Reports add that part of the Dutch Healthcare Authority could also join the new administrative body to avoid overlapping responsibilities.
