UK telco BT must open up its superfast broadband infrastructure “as soon as possible” to competitors, European telecoms commissioner Neelie Kroes has told the company.
Access would come via the so-called physical unbundling of lines leading to customer homes.
BT will be allowed to to offer limited access to its fibre network on a temporary basis, a move supported in whole by Ofcom but only partially by Kroes, who said this would only work in the immediate future.
