Dutch incumbent KPN has named former Dutch finance minister Jan Kees de Jager as its incoming CFO.
De Jager, who was finance minister from 2010 to 2012, will start at KPN on 15 August and, following a transition period, take on CFO duties from 1 November.
He will replace Steven van Schilfgaarde, who has acted as interim CFO since September 2013 and will assist with the transition period.
KPN supervisory board chairman Jos Streppel noted that de Jager combines extensive financial experience with operational leadership in the technology sector.
“He is widely recognised for his financial expertise as minister of finance during a turbulent financial period in Europe,” he said.
De Jager was part of the Dutch cabinet from 2007 to 2012, firstly as state secretary for finance. Since resigning from the cabinet, he has held senior roles at ebusiness solutions company ISM eCompany, which he cofounded.
Carlos Slim’s America Movil (AMX) is KPN’s largest shareholder with a stake of about 25%.
