The Kosovo privatisation committee will tomorrow find out if the two bidders that submitted offers for PTK are fulfilling the technical aspects of the tender.
On Wednesday, the agency will meet with its advisers Lazard and Raiffeisen who will talk the committee members through the offers from M2 and from a consortium comprising Axos Capital and Najafi Companies.
In a next step, the committee plans to open the separate documents that detail the financial aspects of qualifying bids. Provided both offers fulfil the technical requirements, it is expected that the government will accept the higher offer.
It remained unclear whether the preferred bidder will be decided upon at tomorrow’s meeting, although it is understood that a decision could be made before the end of the week.
The sale of a 75% stake in PTK was launched in spring last year and the deadline for bids was extended several times. Initially eight parties expressed interest and five were allowed to participate in the tender process. But when offers were finally due in early April only two were submitted.
An earlier privatisation attempt was cancelled in late 2011.
