Integra Telecom has named Kevin O’Hara as its new chief executive, two months after its former head’s abrupt exit.
O’Hara stepped in as executive chairman of the US-based networking and communications solutions provider last October after two years on the board.
Former chief executive, Tom Casey, left to run pigment manufacturer Tronox after just seven months in the job.
O’Hara said Integra, which operates in 11 western states, will continue to develop its fibre-optic network to deliver a diverse suite of service offerings to businesses and carriers.
“Leveraging our strong network of fibre assets, robust IP network and first-class talent, Integra is well positioned to meet the growing demand for high-bandwidth networking and communications solutions and managed services,” he said.
O’Hara co-founded Level 3 Communications, where he also served as president, chief operating officer and board member. He is also on the board of video technology start-up Elemental Technologies.
