Kazakhstan’s Kar-Tel, which operates as Beeline, has appointed Zhanna Smailova as finance director.
Smailova, who has 14 years of telecoms experience, started her career at rival operator KazakhTelecom and also worked for 2Day Telecom, KZ Trance and TNS Plus.
Kar-Tel is controlled by Russian telco VimpelCom.
“Zhanna has held leading positions at VimpelCom Group companies for more than six years, managing a full range of financial, economic and technical operations,” said Kar-Tel head Sergey Mironov.
Kar-Tel offers mobile and fixed-line services, high-speed Internet access and wireline FTTB data transfer services.
