Norwegian incumbent Telenor has promoted Kjell-Morten Johnsen, managing director of its Serbian unit, to head the parent group’s European operations.
In the newly-created role, Johnsen will oversee Telenor’s Central European operations in Hungary, Serbia and Montenegro, as well as its subsidiaries in Sweden and Denmark. However, his responsibilities will not cover Telenor Norway, which will continue to be headed by Berit Svendsen.
Johnsen said: “All our European operations are well positioned on their own merits, but there will be a key priority to continue to pursue the great potential for further cooperation across the region.”
A Telenor spokesman said the group was still searching for Johnsen’s replacement at Telenor Serbia.
