UK infrastructure telco Arqiva has announced the appointment of John Cresswell, former COO and interim head of local broadcaster ITV, as CEO effective 17 January.
Cresswell replaces Tom Bennie, who is stepping down after 32 years at Arqiva to bring fresh leadership to the group.
“The growth potential in our markets is enormous and the time is right for Arqiva to bring in new executive leadership to drive the company forward,” said chairman Peter Shore.
“John’s broad industry experience, knowledge and leadership skills mean he is ideally placed to help us shape and realise these opportunities today and in the future.”
Arqiva, which manages TV and radio transmitters for most broadcasters in the UK, is heavily involved in the country’s digital switchover efforts. It is also a partner in local IPTV venture YouView.
