Swedish telecoms giant TeliaSonera has promoted Brendan Ives to president of its International Carrier (TSIC) fibre unit after 13 years in the division.
Ives has been working in a number of roles at TSIC, ranging from voice trading, sales and marketing to more recently data and infrastructure.
He replaces Erik Hallberg, who was last month appointed to head the group’s Eurasia region as it reorganises to improve corporate governance.
“I’m energised by the opportunity and responsibility, and committed to both the company’s ongoing success and our role in raising the bar in the carrier industry,” said Ives.
TeliaSonera has been shaking up its top management following controversy over how it obtained a 3G licence in Uzbekistan in 2007. It aims to finalise a new 12-member executive team on 1 April 2014.
