Hungary’s alternative operator Invitel Holdings has bought cable operator Fibernet Hungary from FN Cable Holdings.
Simultaneously, Invitel Holdings has sold about a third of the Fibernet network assets.
No financial details have been revealed.
Invitel Holdings’ president and CEO Martin Lea said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to further invest in Hungary, using some of the proceeds from the recent sale of our International Business. Through the acquisition of Fibernet, Invitel will significantly increase its presence in the residential market.”
Earlier this year, Invitel Holdings sold its international wholesale business to Turk Telekom for E221m.
The deal is expected to close in Q1 2011.
