Viasat completes long-awaited acquisition of Inmarsat

Satellite communications provider Viasat today completed its acquisition of fellow satcom provider Inmarsat. The transaction, valued at $7.3 billion with Inmarsat shareholders receiving $551 million in cash, closed Tuesday after the deal received regulatory approval from the European Commission, a spokesperson for Viasat told Connectivity Business News.
