Malaysian telco Axiata is reportedly reconsidering the proposed merger of its Bangladeshi unit Robi Axiata with Indian operator Bharti Airtel’s Airtel Bangladesh. Axiata CEO Jamaludin Ibrahim was quoted saying the Bangladeshi government is imposing a merger fee, which may make the venture unviable.
