Willcom, majority owned by private equity juggernaut Carlyle, is riddled with debt, and ETI is in negotiation with the firm’s banks regarding the possibility of loans being waived.
Willcom has US$757m in loans and US$385m of outstanding debt on its books
Currently, Carlyle holds 60% in Willcom, Kyocera Corp 30% and KDDI 10%.
