Satellite ground systems provider Integral Systems has appointed Christopher Roberts as its new CFO.
Roberts, who was recently Director of Finance and Administration for Infinity Technology, took up his new role on June 28 and will report to CEO Paul Casner.
After more than 24 years working in government contracting in the aerospace, defence and IT sectors, Roberts arrives with a wealth of experience as an engineer, corporate lawyer and financial manager.
“Chris’ extensive financial experience and involvement in growing successful companies will bring a unique perspective to our executive leadership team,” said Casner.
EchoStar appoints CFO
David Rayner has been named as the new CFO of EchoStar, succeeding Bernard Han as of June 17.
Rayner has been the Chief Administrative Officer since EchoStar was spun off from DTH operator Dish Network Corporation at the start of 2008 and has also served as CFO of DISH Network. Earlier in his career he was Senior VP and CFO of Time Warner Telecom.
Meanwhile, Han continues in his role of COO at Dish Network.
New faces at government-linked firms
Xtar, which provides satellite services to the government and allied forces, has appointed Philip Harlow as its President and COO.
Harlow, who was previously CTO at CapRock Communications, replaces Dr Denis Curtin who is retiring from the role.
Meanwhile Robert Turner has joined Spacenet Integrated Government Solutions as SVP of Business Development and Strategic Marketing, having previously worked at Comtech EF Data and SES New Skies.
Measat finds new voice
Asian satellite operator Measat announced the arrival of Tan Shyue Wern as its new manager of Corporate Communications.
Shyue Wern was previously with Temporal Brand Consulting where he was a Senior Brand Consultant.
O3B adds to management team
Christian Patouraux has been named as O3b’s new Chief Product Development Officer.
Patouraux arrives from consultancy firm SoftVenture in Sydney, where he was a managing partner.
Previously, he was Managing Director of OghmaMedia, a wireless media company based in Singapore which he founded.
The 40 year-old also founded and headed a consultancy practice in Singapore, focused on providing strategic planning, market insight and sales support to clients in the Satellite industry.
Two join Eutelsat board
French satellite operator Eutelsat has nominated two further members to join its board.
Francisco Reynes, who has been the CEO of Abertis since May 2009, replaces Carlos Sagasta Reussi up until the shareholders general meeting that will take place on June 30 2011.
In addition, Olivier Rozenfeld has joined the Eutelsat board as an independent director in place of Pier Francesco Guarguaglini until June 30, 2012.
Rozenfeld is also a board member at Iliad Group where he was formerly financial director.
Subject to approval at the company’s next ordinary general meeting of shareholders, the appointment of Reynes and Rozenfeld will take the number of Eutelsat board members to 11.
OnAir CFO goes off air
Swiss firm OnAir, which provides industry-leading, on-board connectivity solutions that enable passengers to stay connected while they travel, announced that its CEO is to leave the company.
Benoit Debains will return to work for Airbus after three and a half years of leading OnAir and will be replaced by Ian Dawkins, a former SVP at Airbus.
In a statement, OnAir said that Dawkins would be in charge of bolstering “OnAir’s profitable pace of growth, including its global reach onboard connectivity solutions and Internet Services to increase market share, profitability, customer loyalty and satisfaction”.
