Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) is to issue rupiah denominated bonds worth US$214m in the first half of 2010, according to local reports.
The money will go towards the firm’s ambitious US$2bn capital expenditure programme this year. Most of the cash will be garnered internally but a number of loans will also be required.
The bulk of the money will be injected into Telkom’s mobile division Telkomsel.
There are also persistent rumours that Telkom will acquire local firm Bakrie Telecom, although these are unsubstantiated.
