Bharti Airtel and China Telecom have launched an underground terrestrial fibre optic cable connecting India and China.
Ajay Chitkara, CEO of Bharti’s Global Data Business, said in a statement: “The current economic boom in India and China has triggered a huge demand from global as well as domestic customers for connectivity in these nations.”
“This new high speed link will provide unparalleled diversity to both East and West bound traffic ensuring business continuity and economic growth for both the nations,” he added.
Bharti Airtel also stated that it signed a MoU with China Telecom to develop an “interconnect” aimed at allowing seamless access between their networks.
