The entry of Free Mobile on the French market may run into difficulties with the three existing mobile operators refusing to give it access to their 3G networks, Les Echos reports.
Orange, SFR and Bouygues Telecom have entered negotiations to open their 2G networks to Free Mobile as required by law, but they have no legal obligations to do so for 3G networks.
Free Mobile, which was awarded France’s fourth mobile licence in January, plans to launch mobile services at the beginning of 2012.
The company expects to cover 69% of the population with its 3G network by 2015.
