The Hungarian government plans to launch a tender to sell 900 MHz in the very near future, national development minister Tamas Fellegi was quoted saying in local media outlet MTI.
Over the summer, the National Development Ministry stated plans to sell a fourth mobile licence.
Currently, Hungary has three mobile operators: Deutsche Telekom-owned Magyar Telekom, Vodafone Hungary and Telenor Hungary.
The ministry did not respond to a request of comment before press time.
